Spring Valley Orchard

Owned by the same family as Carter Mountain Orchard and Chiles Peach Orchard, Spring Valley Orchard is nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Located in western Albemarle County, near Batesville and Afton, the orchard is open for about four weeks each summer with beautiful Pick Your Own Sweet Cherries.  The season generally runs from late May through June, though Mother Nature determines the actual dates each year.

2012 cherry season begins on Saturday, May 19th. Our hours will be Monday-Friday 10A-5P, Saturday and Sunday 9A-5P.   PLEASE NOTE:  OUR CROP IS VERY LIGHT THIS YEAR DUE TO A LATE SPRING FREEZE.  THERE WILL NOT BE AS MANY CHERRIES TO PICK THIS YEAR AS IN YEAR'S PAST.

Directions

From Charlottesville:
29 South for 9 miles, right turn on Route 692 (Plank Road) for 5 miles to Batesville. Turn left on Route 635 (Craig?s Store Road) and follow for 4 miles. Turn left on Route 634 (Spring Valley Road), follow 1 mile and watch for signs.

From Waynesboro:
250 East over Afton Mountain. Turn right on Route 151 (Critzer?s Shop Road). Follow 151 for 7 ? miles. Turn left on Route 635 (Greenfields Road). Follow Route 635 for 3 miles. Turn right on Route 634 (Spring Valley Road), follow 1 mile and watch for signs.

From Richmond:
64 West to Exit 107 (Crozet). Turn left off exit ramp onto Route 250 West. Follow 250 for 5 miles. Turn left on Route 151 (Critzer?s Shop Road). Follow 151 for 7 ? miles. Turn left on Route 635 (Greenfields Road). Follow Route 635 for 3 miles. Turn right on Route 634 (Spring Valley Road), follow 1 mile and watch for signs.

From Lynchburg:
29 North for approx 35 miles. Turn left on Route 6 (River Road). Follow Route 6 for 6 miles. Turn right on Route 151. Follow 151 for less than 1 mile, turn right on Route 635 (Greenfields Road). Follow Route 635 for 3 miles. Turn right on Route 634 (Spring Valley Road), follow 1 mile and watch for signs.
